The Children’s Center Utah’s Trauma Program for Young Children builds on our foundation as an affiliate of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) and provider of evidence-based trauma treatment as we reduce the impact of trauma for children birth to 6 years throughout Utah. This project creates a trauma-informed system of care comprised of child-serving agencies to enhance screening, referrals, and treatment of young children who have experienced trauma.
Through this program, TCCU will increase knowledge related to trauma-informed care practices in cross-sector child-serving agencies throughout Utah by providing training in Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE), an NCTSN-supported training. Providing CARE training to cross-sector early childhood providers will establish a trauma-informed network in communities throughout Utah. CARE training will also facilitate trauma awareness in child-serving professions and increase providers’ skills in supporting families with young children exposed to trauma.
